Technical Stuff!
OK; Tech freaks! I still shoot film, real film, 35mm, Medium format and once in a while 4x5.
I shoot mostly chromes (slides) for all my color work and real slow speed black and white film when possible.
I develop all my own film including chromes and do all my own printing of fine art prints. My prints from slides are Ilfochrome classic and are SWEET! Black and white prints are
real Silver Gelatin on fiber paper and are either sepia or selenium toned, spendy but really nice.
The prints on the cards are done on a machine that
makes real chemical photographic prints from a digital file to save wear and tear on real film and to make them affordable. I just cannot fire up the darkroom
everytime someone wants a few cards so I do a 3200 dpi scan of every image I want a card of then clean it up and color correct it only. I do not do anything digitally
that I cannot do in the darkroom, tough rule but keeps me honest. My buddy Brent prints the card prints for me and it works out really well.
A short gear list: Nikon F-5 35mm, Pentax 645 medium format, Speed graphic 4x5, a Nikon 8008s in an Ewa Marine bag for underwater work, Jobo CPP2 color processor, Beseler Dichro 45 head on a
45V-XL running gear, boots by the White Boot Company, jeans by Levi Strauss, transportation by Subaru Outback a couple of old Chevy's when I have got a ton of gas money and my motorcycle when I don't. Orange Cream Soda Pop by Henry Weinhards. I don't drink alchohol but really enjoy an orange pop occasionally.
